RIYADH, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia intercepted on Tuesday a ballistic missile fired from Yemen targeting the southern border city of Khamis Mushait, Al Arabiya local news reported.
The missile was part of a series of attacks by Yemen's Houthi militias on different Saudi cities, mainly the border ones.
Most of these missiles were intercepted by Saudi air forces, but a few fell into residential areas and caused casualties and damage.
Saudi Arabia has been leading an Arab coalition in a war against the Iranian-allied Shiite Houthis to support the Yemeni exiled government since March 2015.
