GUANGZHOU, June 22 (Xinhua) -- China's short video sharing platform Douyin, also known as Tik Tok, has spread to more than 150 countries and regions.
Statistics from market researcher Sensor Tower, showed that Tik Tok was downloaded 45.8 million times in Q1.
"We expanded overseas last August and soon became a hit in Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam," said marketing manager Zhi Ying.
Launched in September 2016, Douyin allows users to create their own short music videos, and instantly gained wide popularity especially among young users. The number of daily active users in China exceeds 150 million.
