GAZA, June 28 (Xinhua) -- An Israeli drone on Thursday fired a warning missile at a group of Palestinians launching flaming balloons from eastern Gaza city into Israel, local media reported.
No casualties were reported in the attack, eyewitnesses said. The Palestinians launched earlier Thursday around 30 flaming balloons from eastern Gaza into Israel, causing 15 large fires on the agricultural fields in southern Israel.
Launching flaming kites and balloons is part of the Palestinian protests named "The Great March of Return and Breaking the Israeli Siege," held near the Israel-Gaza border since March 30.
Ashraf al-Qedra, the Gaza Health Ministry's spokesman, told reporters that the death toll since March 30 has grown up to 133 while more than 14,000 others were injured.
Earlier Thursday, a Palestinian teenager died of his wounds from an Israeli shelling near the border between Israel and eastern Rafah town in southern Gaza Strip.
Al-Qedra said that Abdel Fattah Azzoom, 17, died in a hospital hours after he was critically injured by the shrapnel of an Israeli tank shell fired at him and another young Palestinian man trying to cut the barbed wire of the border fence.
