VILNIUS, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaite Thursday voiced her discontent with the pace of the reforms, saying changes are happening too slowly despite the achievements in main goals.
In an interview with local radio broadcaster LRT, Grybauskaite listed out several main goals of the reforms, including the ones in economy, security and defense.
"But what still concerns me or leads to some discontent is too slow pace of reforms, I would like to see the faster progress," the head of state underlined
Grybauskaite entered the last year of her second term on Thursday. In Lithuania, the president is elected directly for a five-year term and can serve maximum of two terms consecutively.
The president pledged to consolidate current Lithuania's achievements during her last year at the office.
In her words, geopolitical challenges, transatlantic divisions, trade tensions, economic stability, Brexit, the new EU's multiannual budget, enforcing of Lithuania's energy independence are among the main challenges at the meantime.
Grybauskaite serves as the president of Lithuania since July 12, 2009.
