India's exports grow 17.57 pct in June

NEW DELHI, July 13 (Xinhua) -- India's exports in June were valued at 27.70 billion U.S. dollars, up 17.57 percent year-on-year, said official trade figures released on Friday.

According to the figures, cumulative value of exports for the period April-June was 82.47 billion U.S. dollars, reflecting a positive growth of 14.21 percent over the same period last year.

Non-petroleum and non-gems and jewellery exports last month were valued at 20.13 billion U.S. dollars, up 15.13 percent year-on-year.

Non-petroleum and non-gems and jewellery exports during the April-June period were valued at 59.86 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 13.56 percent

Total imports in June were valued at 44.30 billion U.S. dollars which was 21.31 percent higher over the level of imports in June 2017.

Cumulative value of imports for the period April-June was 127.41 billion dollars as against 112.26 billion U.S. dollars, registering a positive growth of 13.49 percent over the same period last year.

Oil imports in June were valued at 12.73 billion U.S. dollars which was 56.61 percent higher compared to that in June 2017. Oil imports during April-June period were valued at 34.64 billion U.S. dollars, up 49.44 percent year-on-year.
