KAMPALA, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Uganda Premier League side, Vipers Sports club have parted ways with their Portuguese-born head coach Miguel Jorge Da Costa, the club said on Tuesday.
The football club said it fired Da Costa as part of the restructuring process and preparation for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League and the forthcoming Uganda Premier League season.
Abdul Wasike, the club spokesman, said that since Da Costa's contract had not run out, the club will compensate him.
Da Costa, who was appointed in March 2017, guided Vipers Sports to win the 2017-2018 Uganda Premier League title two months ago.
Vipers Sports are expected to represent Uganda in the CAF Champions League.
