20 injured in 5.9-magnitude quake in western Iran

TEHRAN, July 22 (Xinhua) -- At least 20 people were injured in a 5.9-magnitude earthquake that shook Tazeh Abad region in Iran's western province of Kermanshah on Sunday afternoon.

Local reports said that the tremor has caused damage to the buildings in Sarpol-e Zahaband and Eslamabad-e Gharb cities and the villages in the province.

The epicenter of the tremor, which took place at 14:37 p.m. local time (1007 GMT), was determined at the depth of 8 km, 34.654 degrees north latitude and 46.251 degrees east longitude.
