DAMASCUS, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The Syrian authorities rounded up a would-be suicide bomber Wednesday in the national hospital of the southern city of Sweida, hours after a spate of explosions rocked the city, according to the state TV.
The bomber infiltrated the hospital, which the victims and the wounded were taken to from the explosions that rocked Sweida.
The series of explosions, which were carried out by the Islamic State (IS), rocked several parts of the city of Sweida, killing at least 38 people and wounding 37 others.
The state media outlets said the two bombers were killed while being hunted down at the time of the early explosions.
The suicide bombing came in tandem with an attack by the IS militants on towns in the northeastern countryside of Sweida after dawn Wednesday.
