BAGHDAD, July 26 (Xinhua) -- Iraq on Thursday condemned the massive attacks by Islamic State (IS) militants in Syrian southern province of Sweida, which killed and wounded hundreds of people.
"The Iraqi Foreign Ministry condemns the terrorist attack that targeted the Syrian Sweida and sends condolences to the martyrs' families and wishes of speedy recovery of the injured," the ministry spokesperson Ahmed Mahjoub said in a statement.
The ministry reiterates Iraq's firm stance towards the Syrian issue, "which supports the territorial integrity of Syria and its right to liberate its entire territory," according to the statement.
On Wednesday, a series of explosions carried out by IS militants, rocked several parts of the city of Sweida, killing up to 215 people and wounding some 200 others.
