TEHRAN, July 30 (Xinhua) -- The Japanese Yukiya Sugita has joined Iran's Tractor Sazi of Tabriz soccer club.
Sugita, commonly known as Sugi, joined the Tabriz-based club for a three-year contract with undisclosed fee.
Sugi will play as an attacking midfielder or as a striker for Tractor Sazi in Iran premier league.
He played his first match as a professional in September 2013 for the Spanish Hercules CF, becoming the first Asian player to play for the team.
Later, Sugi played for Pattaya United in 2016 and Dalkurd FF in 2017-18.
Tractor Sazi, managed by former Wales and Real Madrid coach John Toshack, has already signed Irish striker Anthony Stokes.
Tractor Sazi finished last season down in 10th place in the top-flight standings.
