FRANKFURT, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index down 17.55 points, or 0.14 percent, to close at 12,598.21 points.
Multinational chemical firm Linde lost 7.62 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by industrial giant Thyssenkrupp and airlines Lufthansa, which lost 1.14 percent and 0.82 percent respectively.
Multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement gained 1.60 percent, becoming the top gainer. Tire specialist Continental advanced 1.44 percent. Automotive manufacturer BMW went up by 0.82 percent.
Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most traded share with a turnover of 289.75 million euros (334.45 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
