LONDON, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Former England goalkeeper Joe Hart has been confirmed on Tuesday to join Burnely after ending a 12-year stay at the side's English Premier League rivals Manchester City.
It was reported that Burnley signed the 31-year-old on a two-year deal for 3.5 million pounds to replace injured fellow keepers Nick Pope and Tom Heaton.
He spent the past two seasons on loan at Italian side Torino and East London outfit West Ham United and failed to make England's World Cup squad in Russia.
Hart spent more than a decade at City, playing 348 times for the club, after signing from Shrewsbury Town in 2006.
After initially gaining further high-level experience out on loan at Birmingham City, Blackpool and Tranmere Rovers, Hart was ever-present in 2011/12 as City won the Premier League title for the first time and ended a 44-year wait to become England's champions.
He was then the regular number-one in helping City win the title again in 2014 and also won an FA Cup winners' medal from a final win over Stoke City in 2010/11. He also helped the club to two successes in the League Cup.
Hart was capped 75 times by England after making his debut in 2008 and a Champions League semifinalist in 2016.
He will wear jersey number 20 in Sean Dyche's squad.
