BERLIN, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Adam Kszczot won the gold medal in the 800m final after crossing the finish line with 1 minutes 44.59 seconds at the first edition of the multi-sport European Championships in Berlin's Olympic Stadium on Saturday.
Kszczot observed the race from the third placed and increased the pace at the last bend to leave Sweden's Andreas Kramer on the second place (1:45.03) and France Pierre-Ambroise Bosse (1:45.30), who made the pace, on the third place.
The European Championships is the first edition of a new multi-sport event, which is jointly hosted by Glasgow and Berlin. More than 4,500 athletes are competing for 187 gold medals until August 12.
