BEIJING, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese railway police have solved 219 cases of theft, robbery, and fraud and arrested 223 suspects during the peak summer travel.
Chinese railway police have increased patrols at railway stations and in trains nationwide to fight crimes and ensure safe travels during the traditional travel rush, which runs from July 1 to Aug. 31.
In Beijing, a team of 24 police officers was sent to major railway stations to crack down on theft.
In one case, the railway police in the city of Zhengzhou seized a suspect who was found to have stolen 10,000 yuan (1,452 U.S. dollars) from a passenger on a train heading from Zhengzhou to Urumqi in July.
