TIRANA, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Albania's Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), an indicator of inflation and price stability for the European Central Bank (ECB), increased 2.3 percent in July year on year, the Albanian National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) reported on Monday.
It's for the fourth consecutive month during 2018 to see the increase of the index.
According to INSTAT data, the food and non-alcoholic beverages group, which increased 4.2 percent in July over the same period of last year, remains the main element that impacted on the performance of the index.
The harmonized index of consumer prices includes expenditures made within the country by Albanian households as well as visitor costs, while the consumer price index only covers the private expenses of Albanian households carried out internally and internationally.
