NANNING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and more than 130,000 people affected by heavy rain which has lasted for a week in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, local authorities said Monday.
According to the provincial department of civil affairs, five cities and 14 counties were flooded and over 5,500 residents were relocated. About 3,820 hectares of crops were destroyed and 177 houses were damaged by the flooding.
The local meteorological department said heavy rain will last in parts of the region until Tuesday.
