HEBRON, West Bank, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian young man was shot dead on Saturday by Israeli gunfire in the southern West Bank city of Hebron, Palestinian authorities and Israeli media said.
The Palestinian young man, identified as Wa'el al-Ja'barai in his mid-20s, was killed near the settlement of Keryat Arba' east of Hebron, according to the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry.
Palestinian security sources said the body of the young man was taken away by an Israeli military vehicle after the incident.
Meanwhile, the Israeli media quoted security sources as saying that the young man tried to carry out a stabbing attack against Israeli soldiers close to the settlement.
The soldiers immediately opened fire and killed him, with no reported injuries, reports said.
