BANGKOK, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Arrest warrants have been issued by a court for the administrator of a web page and a dozen sharers of "fabricated" content about a British girl allegedly raped on a Thai tourist island.

The police in Koh Samui island obtained on Monday the arrest warrants from the provincial court of Surat Thani following the alleged crime which reportedly occurred in June on Koh Tao island off the southern Thai province.

The arrest warrants were for the administrator of CSI LA web page, namely Pramuk Anantasilp, and a dozen sharers of such "fabricated" content online, said Surat Thani province's deputy police commander Pol. Col. Cherdphong Chewpreecha.

CSI LA web page has publicized the story of the 19-year-old British female, identified as Isabelle, which the police have found as "fabricated either in whole or in part," prompting them to seek arrest of the web page administrator and sharers.

Such "fabricated" story violated the Computer Crime Act, tarnished Thailand's tourism image and jeopardized its national security, public safety and economic stability, according to the police.

Last week, Deputy Tourist Police Commissioner Pol. Maj. Gen. Surachate Hakparn, who investigated the rape complaint filed by the alleged victim herself after she had returned home in England, found it was "groundless" without concrete evidence to substantiate it.

The British girl claimed to have been raped on the night of June 25 on Sairee beach in Koh Tao island but Pol. Maj. Gen. Surachate viewed footages of CCTV cameras in the neighborhood and found the tide rising high along the shore, making it very unlikely for anyone to hang around on the beach.

Isabelle lodged a complaint with the Koh Samui police the next day about her personal belongings gone missing, including 3,000 baht (about 90 U.S. dollars) in cash, a cellphone and credit cards after she had spent a period of time drinking with friends.

But she did not mention having been raped by an unknown person on the beach of the tourist island to the local police.
