TOKYO, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed lower Wednesday as concerns over the costs related to the damage caused by Typhoon Jebi weighed on the market mood.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 116.07 points, or 0.51 percent, from Tuesday to close the day at 22,580.83.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 13.28 points, or 0.77 percent, to finish at 1,704.96.
Information and communication, real estate, and chemical-related issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play.
