Iran's president says civilians in Idlib should be protected

TEHRAN, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said here Friday that operation in Idlib is part of the "fight against terrorism," but the civilians there should be protected from bloodshed.

"The struggle against terrorism in Syria would be continued, particularly in Idlib," Rouhani said, adding "there is no other way but fighting against terrorism."

Iran stresses non-military procedures to settle the crisis in Syria, he said.
