ISLAMABAD, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Newly elected governor of Pakistan's east Punjab province said public will allowed to visit the state-owned governor's house on Sundays.

Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar told a press briefing in the provincial capital of Lahore on Monday that his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf made promise that common people will be allowed to enter state buildings and now he is fulfilling the promise.

Spreading over a vast area of land in Lahore, the highly secured governor's house, which was a no-go-zone for general public, is a historic building with centuries old architecture and antique furniture.

General public will be allowed to visit the governor's residence from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time every Sunday.

Earlier on Sept. 7, governor of the country's south Sindh province allowed general public to visit the governor's house. He also decided to meet the visitors in person once a week.
