ATHENS, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- A 34-year-old female tourist was slightly injured and there were no persons missing after a rock slide at a popular beach on the island of Zakynthos, western Greece, authorities said Thursday.
Greek national news agency AMNA had reported earlier that three people had been slightly injured and authorities were looking for any missing under the rocks and the sea area, where the turbulence from falling rocks had overturned three boats off the beach.
Eventually it was clarified that only the woman needed medical aid and was transferred to a nearby hospital.
The incident occurred at the iconic Navagio (shipwreck) beach where the rusty wreck of a freighter vessel which ran aground in autumn 1980 still rests on site.
The local port authority said the beach has been evacuated and boats with tourists forbidden from approaching until further notice.
