NEW DELHI, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- A massive fire broke out at a movie theatre in the southern Indian port city of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh state Monday, officials said.
The fire broke out at Sri Kanya cinema hall in Gajuwaka area of Visakhapatnam.
"The blaze started this morning. Some five fire tenders have been pressed into service. Fortunately, there have been no reports of any casualty in the incident," a fire official said.
Local media reports said that cinema hall employees have been evacuated by fire fighters and the theatre was empty as the shows start only after 11 a.m. local time.
A probe has been ordered into the incident, the official said. "We will book the cinema owner if any negligence is found on its part," he added.
