NEW YORK, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- U.S.-listed Chinese companies traded mostly higher on Tuesday with eight of the top 10 stocks by weight in the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index ending the day on an upbeat note.
Shares of NetEase and BeiGene gained 2.63 percent and 2.04 percent, respectively, leading the gainers in the top 10 stocks of the index.
Shares of Ctrip.com lost 1.70 percent, the biggest laggard in the top 10 stocks of the index.
U.S. stocks closed mixed on Tuesday as investors digested a batch of major economic data.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 69.84 points, or 0.26 percent, to 26,492.21. The S&P 500 decreased 3.81 points, or 0.13 percent, to 2,915.56. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 14.22 points, or 0.18 percent, to 8,007.47.
As of Monday, the S&P U.S. Listed China 50 index stood at 2,726.71, marking a 6.15-percent decrease for the month-to-date returns and a 11.79-percent loss for the year-to-date returns. Enditem
