DOHA, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- China is deepening its opening-up to boost cooperation with all parties and will remain committed to building a new type of international relations, Chinese Ambassador to Qatar Li Chen said.

Li made the remarks during a reception hosted by the Chinese embassy on Tuesday evening to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China which falls on Oct. 1.

China's tremendous achievements and rapid developments over the past 40 years benefit from its reform and opening up policy, Li explained.

''Facing complicated situations, China's development still needs reforms and opening up. Nowadays, China is deepening reforms unswervingly and comprehensively, building a modern economic system, steadfastly extending the opening up strategy, and strengthening international cooperation," he said.

China has become the main stabilizer and power source for global economic growth, with significant contributions to the promotion of world peace and development, the Chinese ambassador noted.

Commenting on the ongoing Gulf crisis, Li said China has always devoted itself to maintaining peace and stability in the region and advocates resolving differences through dialogue and friendly negotiation.

China maintains that all parties should resolve their differences through dialogue on the basis of mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs, he added.

In July, China and Qatar celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The trade between China and Qatar reached 5.5 billion U.S. dollars in the first half of 2018, with a remarkable year-on-year increase of 70 percent, according to Li.

He called for more cooperation between China and Qatar under the Belt and Road Initiative to start another 30-year splendid diplomatic relations.

Proposed by China in 2013, the Belt and Road Initiative, formally known as the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road, aims to build a trade and infrastructure network connecting Asia with Africa and Europe along the ancient trade routes of the Silk Road.
