BERLIN, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Borussia Dortmund moved on the second place after whitewashing newly promoted Nuremberg 7-0 at the closer of the fifth round in Bundesliga on Wednesday.
Marco Reus had large shares on Dortmund's third win of the season after providing a brace and an assist to sink Nuremberg 7-0 in a one-sided affair on home soil.
The "BVB" ensured a perfect start into the game as Jacob Bruun Larsen capitalized on Christian Pulsic's build-up work with only nine minutes played.
Nuremberg's defence settled after the early setback but still they were unable to prevent Dortmund from taking a 2-0 lead into the break after Marco Reus slotted home from 20 meters.
The hosts grabbed also a bright start into the second half as Achraf Hakimi had all time and space to fire past Nuremberg goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow with a low shot from 14 meters in the 49th minute.
Moments later Marco Reus smoothed the way for the win after establishing a 4-0 lead following a one-two with Jacob Bruun Larsen in the 58th minute.
However, Lucien Favre's men were not done with the scoring as Manuel Akanji made the most out of a turnover with a well-placed shot from inside the box with 74 minutes played.
Newly promoted Nuremberg were unable to put up resistance meanwhile the "BVB" continued relentlessly as Jadon Sancho and Julian Weigl marked another two goals to seal the 7-0 victory on home soil.
With the victory, Dortmund move on the 2nd place whereas Nuremberg slipped to the 14th position after suffering the second loss of the campaign.
Elsewhere, Monchengladbach's three second-half goals edged Eintracht Frankfurt, who suffered their third loss in five games.
Two goals from Kevin Volland helped clinical Bayer Leverkusen to down newly promoted Fortuna Dusseldorf, who dominated the first half but failed to make use of their chances.
Stuttgart still wait for their first victory of the season as Leipzig secured all three points on home soil after the goals from Willi Orban and Jean-Kevin Augustin and Wolfsburg shared the spoils with Mainz following a goalless stalemate.
