WASHINGTON, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- American cyclist Corben Sharrah won a gold medal in a BMX World Cup event held in Santiago del Estero, Argentina on Saturday.
Sharrah, a 2016 Olympian and 2017 world champion, won the elite men's final with 32.012 seconds, edging out Gonzalo Molina of Argentina in a tight race that also featured Jared Garcia of the United States finishing third for the bronze medal.
"It feels awesome when you finish the day on top," Sharrah said following his race.
The win boosted Sharrah into sixth place in the World Cup rankings.
