KIEV, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's air traffic regulator Ukraerorukh has closed the airspace in a 30-km radius around the blast-stricken depot in northern Ukraine, the country's Infrastructure Ministry said Tuesday.
Road and rail transport in the region have also been partially suspended, the ministry said in a statement.
The blast ripped through an ammunition depot of the Ukrainian army near the town of Ichnya, around 170 km east of Kiev, at about 3:30 a.m. local time (0030 GMT) Tuesday, triggering a fire and a subsequent massive detonation of the ammunition.
This marked the fourth such incident in Ukraine in two years. The previous three blasts occurred in ammunition depots in the Donetsk and Kharkov regions in eastern Ukraine and the Vinnytsya region in central Ukraine. Enditem
