YEREVAN, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- A remarkable display of pavilions for countries of the International Organization of La Francophonie, dubbed as the Francophonie village, officially opened on Liberty Square of downtown Yerevan on Tuesday.

The pavilions of Francophonie member states in front of Yerevan's opera building offer an interesting glimpse into the culture, language and other characteristics of the Francophonie nations and member states.

Famous French singers and celebrities are expected to arrive in Yerevan soon with a major concert planned at the Republic Square of Yerevan on Thursday.

Armenia's capital Yerevan has been enjoying the spirit of the French culture for about a week since widescale preparations began ahead of the Francophonie summit that the small South Caucasus nation will host on Oct. 11 and 12.

A number of world leaders are expected to participate in the summit, including French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
