CAIRO, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi said on Thursday that the 2011 uprising that toppled former President Hosni Mubarak was the "wrong medicine for the wrong diagnosis," state-run TV reported on Thursday.
His comments came during his speech to the nation amid the celebrations of the Oct. 6 anniversary that marks the Egyptian army victory in its war against Israel in 1973.
"Those who mobilized the people and the saying that persuaded them that after someone leaves and another comes to power everything will be changed as if he will come with a magic wand were wrong," Sisi said.
The president pointed out that mobilizing the people for pushing the regime, after defeat of the armies in 1967 war, could have caused another defeat.
Sisi asserted that the war in 1973 against Israel was "a suicide, but the Egyptian brave soldiers made the victory."
He reiterated that the enemies of 1973 war were known, but the current enemies are not, referring to terrorism which Egypt has been fighting over the past six years.
He called on all the officials and ministers to work on raising people's awareness of the country's situations.
