HONG KONG, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Commissioner's Office of China's Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) urged related foreign institutions to stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's domestic affairs.

With regard to an annual report of the U.S. Congressional-Executive Commission on China that made comments on democracy and human rights in Hong Kong, a spokesperson of the Commissioner's Office said on Thursday evening that advocacy of "Hong Kong independence" seriously violated China's Constitution, the Basic Law of the Hong Kong SAR and the related laws in the SAR.

It challenged the bottom line of "one country, two systems," gravely undermined the state sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, and damaged Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and stability, and the fundamental interests of people of all sectors in the Hong Kong SAR.

No individual or organization would be allowed to advocate "Hong Kong independence" or engage in separatist activities under the guise of democracy, human rights, freedom of speech or freedom of the press, the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson said that since Hong Kong's return to the motherland, the central government has acted in strict accordance with the Constitution and the Basic Law of the Hong Kong SAR.

The principles of "one country, two systems," "Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong" with a high degree of autonomy have been successfully implemented in the Hong Kong SAR. Its residents enjoy unprecedented rights and freedoms in accordance with law, the spokesperson added.
