TALUQAN, Afghanistan, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- At least 11 civilians were injured as a rocket fired by militants slammed into a bazaar in northern province of Takhar in Afghanistan on Monday, provincial police spokesman said.
"A rocket fired by the armed insurgents struck a bazaar in Yangi Qala district today morning injuring 11 innocent civilians," Abdul Khalil Asir told Xinhua.
However, another official on the condition of anonymity said that that few rockets fired by the Taliban militants struck a bazaar in Yangi Qala district injuring 15 people including women and children.
Taliban militants who control parts of the northern Takhar province are yet to make comment.
