HANOI, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Over 2,500 professional and semi-professional athletes from 50 countries and regions will compete at the 2018 Hanoi International Heritage Marathon on October 21 in Vietnam's capital, organizers announced on Tuesday.
Among the competitors are two well-known female Vietnamese runners, namely Nguyen Thi Oanh, who won a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, and Pham Thi Hue, who bagged silver medals at the 2015 and 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Singapore and Malaysia respectively.
The tournament has four categories of 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km in length, and a cash purse totaling 400 million Vietnamese dong (nearly 17,400 U.S. dollars), according to the Vietnam Athletics Federation.
