"Project Gutenberg" continues to lead Chinese box office

BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Crime thriller "Project Gutenberg" continued to lead the Chinese box office in the week ending on Oct. 14, earning about 256 million yuan (37 million U.S. dollars), China Film News reported Tuesday.

Starring Hong Kong actors Chow Yun-Fat and Aaron Kwok, the film has raked in a total of 940 million yuan since hitting Chinese box offices on Sept. 30.

Second place went to Zhang Yimou's "Shadow," making 103 million yuan during the week. It has taken in 556 million yuan since its release on Sept. 30.

"Lost, Found," which hit Chinese box offices on Oct. 5, took the third place by pulling in 93.3 million yuan.

Comedy producer Mahua FunAge's "Hello, Mrs. Money," which ranked second during the National Day holiday week, dropped to fourth place, earning 58.5 million yuan during the week. Its total earnings have reached 574 million yuan.

Rounding out the top five was "Fat Buddies," with total earnings of 238 million yuan since hitting Chinese box offices on Sept. 30.
