TEHRAN, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Iran has succeeded in meeting all health and safety requirements for exporting agricultural commodities to Vietnam, Eghtesad online news website quoted an official with Ministry of Agriculture as saying on Tuesday.
Iran considers Vietnam as one of the key export destinations for agricultural commodities in Southeast Asia, said Houman Fathi, chairman of the Agriculture Ministry's Department for International Affairs.
Fathi also noted that Iran is further prepared for the exports of livestock to Vietnam.
In April, senior Iranian and Vietnamese officials met in Hanoi and discussed promotion of economic, trade and investment cooperation.
Trade between the two countries reached 164.6 million dollars in 2017, a 41-percent increase compared to 2016.
