ULAN BATOR, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- A fire killed five family members in the western Songinokhairkhan district of Ulan Bator early Wednesday morning, local media reported, citing the country's National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The fire occurred in a traditional round-shaped dwelling or ger, killing a young couple in their 30s, their two children aged 2-5 and the householder's father in his 60s.
Investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blaze.
A total of 2,742 structure fires were reported across the country in the first three quarters of this year, claiming 53 lives, according to the NEMA.
