WASHINGTON, Oct.26 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said Friday it has located a package addressed to Democratic lawmaker Cory Booker, in addition to 10 other similarly suspicious packages intercepted earlier.

The package was recovered in the southern state of Florida and had not detonated, according to a FBI tweet.

The package was the 11th mailed to prominent Democratic politicians and activists over the past few days. Authorities said the packages shared similarities and all contained explosives.

So far those targeted by the recent flux of explosive parcels includes former U.S. President Barack Obama, former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, U.S. Representatives Maxine Waters, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, actor Robert De Niro and former Director of Central Intelligence Agency John Brennan.

U.S. media cited law enforcement sources as saying that the explosive devices were PVC pipes stuffed with what appeared to be fireworks powder and glass. Electrical wires leading out of the pipe led to an electric timer taped to the pipe.

The attempted attacks have sent spooks in Washington and across the country and created political ripples in the run-up to the midterm elections, slated for the first week of November.

Some accused the Trump administration, with its targeted rhetoric against Democrats, of having prompted the attacks.

U.S. President Donald Trump defended the Republicans on Friday by tweeting that the bomb scares undermined the Republican "momentum".
