SINGAPORE, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 0.32 percent or 9.52 points to close at 2981.54.
A total of 1.62 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 867.1 million Singapore dollars (about 627.02 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 202 to 162.
The STI index went down 1.35 percent or 40.82 points to close at 2972.02 last Friday. Enditem
