SINGAPORE, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 0.51 percent or 15.09 points to close at 2966.45.
A total of 1.93 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 985.4 million Singapore dollars (about 711.94 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 266 to 132.
The STI index went up 0.32 percent or 9.52 points to close at 2981.54 on Monday.
