JAKARTA, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian boxer Daud "Cino" Yordan has promised to defeat his British opponent Anthony Crolla with a knockout in their WBA lightweight match next month.
"I set the target of hitting my opponent with a knockout blow, but I cannot predict in what round it will be. Obviously, my target is to win by KO," Yordan said on Tuesday.
The Ketapang-born star said that he and his coach Pino Bahari have already learned Crolla's boxing style by watching videos of his bouts.
"He is a fighter with an orthodox style, which means that he runs after hitting," said Yordan.
To counter such a style, Yordan says he will look to put pressure on his opponent in the earlier rounds.
"I will try to strike from the beginning of the bout and will not give a chance for him to launch his strikes," Indonesian state media quoted him as saying.
The bout will take place at the Britain's Manchester Arena on November 10, and will feature on the undercard for the fight between Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk and home favorite Tony Bellow.
Yordan added that he and Bahari are to leave for the UK on November 1.
The 31-year-old has a record of 38 wins with 26 KO's and 4 losses, while Crolla has 33 wins with 13 KO's and six losses.
The winner of the fight will be the mandatory challenger to WBA lightweight champion Vasyl Lamachenko.
