CHICAGO, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Six-year-old twin brothers and their 9-year-old sister were struck and killed on Tuesday morning at a school bus stop in the U.S. state of Indiana.
State police confirmed that the three children from same family were fatally hit by a pick-up truck as they were about to board a school bus on a rural road near Rochester, some 160 kilometers north of the state capital Indianapolis.
Another boy, who was injured in the accident, was airlifted to hospital for treatment, said police spokesman Tony Slocum.
The school bus had stopped on the road with its stop-arm deployed, according to Slocum. The pick-up driver was reportedly cooperating with police investigators on the scene.
