ISLAMABAD, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- At least one person was killed and four others were injured on Friday in a bomb blast in Pakistan's northwest district of North Waziristan, an official said.

An official from the district administration told media that a bomb blast hit a vehicle of pro-government local tribal elders in village Eidak of Tehsil Mir Ali in North Waziristan, a district in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Locals and security forces rushed to the site and shifted the body and injured to a nearby hospital.

According to the official, the bomb was planted in a motorcycle and it was detonated with a remote-controlled device.

The victims have been actively participating in the anti-terrorism campaign of the government, local media reports said.

Security personnel cordoned off the area after the blast and launched a search operation.

No group claimed the attack yet.

On Wednesday, at least three soldiers were injured in a roadside explosion of an improvised explosive device in the Rogha Badar area of Gharyum region in North Waziristan.
