DAR ES SALAAM, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- Tanzanian President John Magufuli on Saturday sacked Minister of Industries, Trade and Investment Charles Mwijage and Minister of Agriculture Charles Tizeba in a mini-cabinet reshuffle.
A statement issued by the Directorate of Presidential Communication at State House in the commercial capital Dar es Salaam did not give reasons for the sacking of Mwijage and Tizeba.
The statement said the president appointed the Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Japhet Hasunga, to replace Tizeba in the agriculture docket.
President Magufuli also appointed Joseph George Kakunda to replace Mwijage in the industries and trade docket, said the statement.
Before his new appointment, Kakundq was Deputy Minister in the President's Office responsible for Local Government and Regional Administration, said the statement.
The statement said the new appointments were effective from Saturday, adding that the new appointees will be sworn in by the president on Monday.
President Magufuli also made changes in the appointments of some deputy ministers, said the statement.
