BANGKOK, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Thirty-two private firms will bid for the construction and operation of Phase 3 of the Laem Chabang port development project in eastern Thailand.
The Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) said on Wednesday that 32 firms, including 17 Thai and 15 foreign firms, have prepared bidding documents for the port project under which two piers for cargo ships, designated F1 and F2, will be built and operated.
The bidding documents are scheduled to be submitted on Jan. 14, 2019, and a winning bidder will be announced in February, according to the PAT.
The Laem Chabang port is a key project in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor, which is put forward by the current Thai government to attract investment, boost innovation and upgrade the industries.
