MINSK, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Belarusian army plans to put into service another Russia's set of Tor-M2 air defense missile systems by the end of the year, the Belarusian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
Russia's arms manufacturer Almaz-Antey has already conducted an inspection of the complexes.
The ministry said it will be the fifth Tor-M2 battery. Each battery consists of four complexes.
Tor-M2 is an all-weather missile system designed by Almaz-Antey. It provides air and missile defense at a range of up to 15 km and an altitude of 10 km.
It was adopted by the Ground Forces' air defense of Belarus in 2015.
A four-battery set protects the airspace of Belarus. It also provides physical protection for the nuclear power plant.
