TOKYO, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Thursday as remarks by U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell about the outlook for the U.S. economy lifted the market mood.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 85.58 points, or 0.39 percent, from Wednesday to close the day at 22,262.60.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 5.81 points, or 0.35 percent, to finish at 1,659.47.
Service, miscellaneous product, and air transportation-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the close of play.
