JAKARTA, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesia Open Aquatic Championship will be held in the country's capital Jakarta next week, confirmed Wisnu Wardhana from Indonesia's swimming association.
Domestic and overseas swimmers are scheduled to compete at the event which will take place from December 5 to 15 at the Gelora Bung Karno sport stadium.
The five sports to feature will be swimming, water polo, synchronized swimming, diving and master swimming.
The event is sanctioned by global swimming federation FINA, meaning every participant will receive ranking points that will contribute to future participation in the world championships or Olympic Games.
