JERUSALEM, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Israeli security forces said on Thursday that they detained 10 suspected Palestinian militants in the West Bank in an overnight raid.
The detainees are suspected of involvement in "terrorist activity, popular terror, and violent disturbances against civilians and soldiers," a military spokesperson said in a statement.
A number of weapons were confiscated in the city of Qalqilya in the northern West Bank and in the city of Hebron, south of Jerusalem, the statement added.
The arrests were part of the night raids being carried out by the Israeli army throughout the West Bank, citing security reasons.
Israel occupied the West Bank in the 1967 Middle East War and has since controlled the area despite international criticism.
