KHARTOUM, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Foreign ministers of Libya's neighboring countries on Thursday reiterated here support for Libya to achieve a peaceful political transition and expressed rejection to any foreign intervention in Libya's internal affairs.
A ministerial meeting was held in Sudanese capital Khartoum with the participation of foreign ministers of Libya, Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the United Nations, the Arab League and the African Union Commission as well as officials from Chad and Niger.
The ministers issued a joint communique in which they reiterated commitment to support Libya within a framework of a peaceful political transition based on consensual implementation of political agreement.
The meeting stressed the importance of preserving Libya's unity, sovereignty and integrity of its territories, rejecting any foreign intervention in Libya's internal affairs.
According to the communique, "the ministers stressed the importance of attaching concern to the seriousness of situations in southern Libya."
They also "commended the role being played by Libya's neighbors including Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia within the tripartite initiative and the efforts by Sudan, Chad and Niger to secure the joint border with Libya," said the communique.
