KUWAIT CITY, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Gulf Popular Heritage Festival kicked off on Friday in Kuwait, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
Held at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Heritage Village in western Kuwait, the three-month event will provide an opportunity for Kuwaiti and Gulf citizens to take part in various activities of the festival, said Saif Al-Shallahi, director of the village.
This year's festival will see thousands of contestants in the contest categories such as camels, birds, horses and sheep, in addition to other popular contests with the participation of a number of folklore troupes, he added.
